What are the responsibilities and job description for the Screener Operator - Olmsted Aggregate position at DeCook Excavating?
Olmsted Aggregate is a leading aggregate provider in the greater Rochester area. With four quarry and pit locations, we provide a variety of rock, stone, sand, and dirt for commercial and residential use.
This is a full-time seasonal position with a typical work week being Monday-Friday 7am-5pm.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for running screeners, trommels and other machinery separating materials based on size
- Ensure screened materials meets product specifications, adjusting controls as needed
- Comply and follow all MSHA regulations and company safety policies
- Perform routine equipment inspections, cleaning and minor repairs keeping in good working condition
- Needs to be flexible - when there is no screening to do this person will help around the pit with other operations as directed by the manager
- Report safety concerns or incidents in a timely manner
Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous experience with heavy equipment operation
- Preferred knowledge of screening and crushing processes
- Class A preferred
Physical Demands:
- Work in all weather conditions – Rain, sleet, snow, heat, cold
- Occasionally lift up to 100 lbs
- Kneel/Squat/Step/Stand/Bend while performing certain maintenance or operating machinery
- Corrected vision and hearing within normal range to observe and communicate with crew members to assure safety
- Looking for hazards such asother equipment/people
- Shovel/Raking/Scraping, etc
