Septic Installer - DeCook Excavating

We are seeking a skilled Septic Installer to join our excavation team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, repairing, and maintaining septic systems, including tanks, drain fields, and piping. This role requires hands-on work with excavation equipment, knowledge of local regulations, and the ability to read site plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and repair septic tanks, drain fields, and associated piping.
• Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, skid steers, and backhoes for digging and grading.
• Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and permits.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and environmental regulations.
• Conduct site assessments to determine proper system placement.
• Inspect existing septic systems and perform necessary repairs.
• Work with customers and inspectors to ensure proper installation and approvals.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and job site cleanliness.
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.

Requirements:

• Experience in septic system installation and excavation work.
• Knowledge of state and local septic regulations.
• Ability to operate excavation equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong understanding of grading, trenching, and backfilling.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Septic system certification or licensing
• Experience with soil testing and percolation tests.
• Plumbing or construction background.
