What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garage Door Technician/Installer position at Decor Builders Hardware, Inc.?
Décor Door (a division of Décor Builder's Hardware) located in New Caney, TX is looking for a full time employee with experience servicing and installing garage and overhead doors in high-volume production-builder homes, roll up doors in commercial settings, multi family apartments and building. This position comes with a company truck, phone, gas card, tools and everything you need to succeed at your job. Prior experience installing garage doors is required and references will be requested.
You will primarily be working on single family new home construction sites installing new garage doors or at occupied homes addressing service calls. Your work will be assigned daily by the supervisor or manager meeting at the New Caney location where you will load material and head out for the day. Job sites are primarily in the Houston metro area but occasionally will have to go further out.
The right candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Installing standard 7' and 8' high garage doors
- Replacing panels, hardware, springs, etc. on garage doors
- Installing garage door openers of all kinds along with quick key disconnects
- Installing decorative hardware (straps, handles) on the garage door
- Installing 1x2 trim or vinyl around the opening of the garage door
- Fixing garage doors that have become stuck, gone off track, broken rollers, replacing springs, etc.
- Sending in pictures, emails and notes when and install or service is complete so notes can be added to the order.
- Troubleshooting unknown issues based on limited information
- Overtime will sometimes be required
- Consistent communication with supervisors or managers regarding work being done in the field
