Decor Products, Inc. is a well-established family-owned company that supplies small to medium size decorative trim components for the automotive, electronics and appliance industries.
Job Description:
Decor is looking for an advanced tool and die maker/designer to originate and develop ideas to design the form of its manufactured products. The candidate will perform all machine and bench operations to construct, alter and/or repair intricately designed and constructed tools, dies, fixtures, molds, gages, machine attachments, proto-type parts, etc. Hours of business operation are Monday-Thursday.
Essential functions may include but are not limited to:
- Performing developmental and experimental work, select allowances and materials, proceed from own conception in absence of design and specifications
- Evaluates design ideas based on factors such as appearance, safety design-function, budget, price, production costs, and customer specifications
- Work from intricate drawings and specifications
- Lay out work and plan machining and bench procedures
- Perform machining operations requiring complicated setups involving improvising of tooling and machines for adaptions beyond the normal range and capacities of available equipment
- Perform bench and assembly operations to fit, align, calibrate, adjust, assemble and finish work
- Perform skilled fitting of bearings, spindles and align machine components
- Vender interaction
Knowledge and Education:
Extensive knowledge of tooling practices and CAD program experience is required. Related trainings should include heat treating, welding, and brazing. Onsite machine types may include but are not limited to milling machine, CNC milling machine, lathe, drill press, grinders, wire EDM, and special purpose machines.
