Purpose of Role:
We are seeking a qualified Legal Assistant to join our Paramus, New Jersey office. This position's ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, exceptional problem-solving skills, detailed oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced dynamic workplace.
Responsibilities:
- Provides support to a minimum of four (4) attorneys.
- Drafting correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents.
- Review, revising and proofreading of all documents.
- Organize files and documents by saving to the document management system.
- Assist with client engagement and retention, including preparation of engagement letter, conflict check and submitting information to open matters in system.
- Manage multiple attorney calendars, schedule appointments, and meetings.
- Submit attorney expenses.
- Provide overflow assistance as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 4 years of legal assistant experience required in a law firm.
- Proficient in E-Courts, CM/ECF and Pacer a plus.
- Exceptional grammar, spelling, and proofreading skills.
- Fundamental knowledge of legal terminology, court rules and procedures.
- Organized, reliable, and attentive to detail.
- Work successfully in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and concisely.
- Advanced skills of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel) and Adobe.
- Knowledge using iManage, FileSite system a plus.
