What are the responsibilities and job description for the DMS Summer Program Teachers position at Dedham Middle School?
The District is seeking teachers for the Learning, Enrichment, and Play (LEAP) summer program that serves approximately 80 students entering Grades 6 - 9. Participating students require additional academic support to ensure readiness for the upcoming school year. Through this program, students receive systematic and structured literacy and numeracy interventions. Structured intervention programs include: Amplify Intervention, Lexia PowerUP, Bridges (Math), and Maneuvering Math Intervention. Students attend the LEAP program four and a half hours per day (8:00 - 12:30) four days per week (Monday - Thursday).
Program Dates: June 25 - July 31st
Job Responsibilities and Requirements
- Participate in onboarding and orientation
- Provide four hours per day of direct instruction/intervention using District identified intervention programs and materials
- Collaborate/coordinate with colleagues and program coordinators during daily planning time
- Monitor the progress of students by administering and reporting on district assessments
Qualifications
- Current and active MA teachers license/Special Education License
- Classroom teaching experience preferred
- Current Dedham employee preferred
