Summary
The mission for this role is to partner with the Company’s Leaders to attract, develop, and retain top talent to execute on the business strategy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Organizational Development
- Develop, implement, and / or lead various organizational development programs (i.e. Intern Program, Performance Management Program, Mentor Program, and Career Pathing Program)
- Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to leadership (includes coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions)
- Provide guidance and input on resource planning and succession planning
Recruiting
Proactively recruit for talent matching DC Values and skills necessary to execute on the business strategyCreate and maintain strong relationships with external recruiters and representatives from local collegesFill open positions timelyOnboarding
Work with hiring leaders to develop an effective, position-specific training plan for new hiresOrganize and participate in New Hire Orientation, present overview of Company policiesPerform 60-day check-ins with new associates and provide feedback / coaching to the associate and their leaderEmployee Relations
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issuesConduct effective, thorough, and objective investigationsImprove working relationships and build morale through swift and fair resolution of associate issuesCompliance
Maintain compliance with federal and state employment regulations to prevent any adverse legal findings against the CompanyDevelop and implement associate policies and procedures; prepare and maintain associate handbookPayroll
Maintain the accuracy of associate information in the payroll systemWork directly with associates to resolve payroll questionsProcess the bi-weekly payrollGenerate payroll reports for accounting reconciliation, including quarterly tax reportsDesign other payroll-related reports as neededEnsure adherence to payroll-related policiesBenefit Plan Administration
Administer benefits (enrollments, changes, beneficiaries, terminations, COBRA, FMLA, disability, accident and death claims, rollovers, QDROs, distributions, loans, hardships, etc.)Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administratorsReconcile benefit invoicesEnsure adherence to benefit-related policies and regulationsFile benefit plan 5500s timelyComply with benefit notice requirementsCompile supporting documentation for benefit plan auditsQUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Required :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Organizational Development and at least five years of HR Generalist experienceKnowledge of all pertinent federal and state employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirementsStrong interpersonal and influencing skillsStrong conflict management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detailSelf-directed and motivatedEffective planning and priority setting with the ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlinesComputer proficiency and technical aptitude with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environmentPreferred :
Professional in Human Resources (PHR / SPHR) certificationExperience working with ADPPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
