Position Summary:
The Corporate Paralegal is primarily responsible for managing the team of paralegals and legal assistants within the legal department. The Corporate Paralegal maintains the legal pipelines and assesses risks, ensuring a smooth process and escalating issues as appropriate. This position will be heavily focused on detailed communications with local attorneys and clients, oversight of the state court litigation process, and oversight of the business bankruptcy process; this position may also assist with legal questions surrounding collections, UCC enforcement, repossessions of equipment, remarketing of equipment, and compliance, working with the General Counsel as necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
· Managing the team of paralegals and legal assistants, including reporting KPI’s to the General Counsel
· Drafting form complaints for each client utilizing litigation management services
· Reviewing the work product and process of local attorneys, and directing corrections, as needed
· Prioritizing litigation files based on scheduling orders and factual disputes
· Assisting with maintaining the files in litigation and bankruptcy, and ensuring that diaries are set appropriately for each stage of the applicable process
· Escalating files in the applicable process to the General Counsel, as appropriate
· Timely communicating with clients carefully and thoughtfully, with consideration of the specific needs and requirements of each client
· Communicating clearly and effectively with other departments
· Timely escalating potential and discovered issues to the General Counsel
· Collaborating with the General Counsel to identify key compliance management responsibilities, and delegating those responsibilities, as appropriate
· Presenting improvements to procedures to maximize effectiveness of the legal department
· Optimizing current policies and processes to align with company values
· Optimizing the compliance management system to adapt to changing legal requirements, client needs, and organizational growth
· Providing honest accounts of non-compliance to the General Counsel
· Assisting the General Counsel with corporate filings, registrations, licensing, and bonding as needed

Requirements:
· Current Paralegal certification is required
· Commercial Litigation experience
· 4 Years of Management experience
· Familiarity with regulations governing commercial and/or consumer debt collections
