Trainer / Permanent Floater: Chick Dumping Team – Harrisonburg, VA
Pay: Starting at $800/week (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Early morning start, typically 5-6 AM until job completion 8-10 hour days)
Job Overview:
We are looking for a Trainer / Permanent Floater to join our Chick Dumping/Delivery team! This role is responsible for training new hires, ensuring all team members follow proper procedures, and acting as a key point of communication between the crew, customers, and supervisors/managers. The ideal candidate will be bilingual (English & Spanish), experienced in all aspects of poultry farm labor, and comfortable traveling daily to and from farm locations.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Leadership:
- Train all new hires on proper procedures for loading, unloading, and handling chicks.
- Become an expert in every position of the job and assist where needed.
- Ensure all team members follow biosecurity and safety protocols.
Travel & Operations:
- Ride with crews to various farm locations to oversee operations.
- Assist with unloading chicks and physically moving them into poultry houses as needed.
- Operate a Moffett (forklift) when required.
- Oversee a small fleet of company vehicles.
Communication & Coordination:
- Act as the primary link between crew members, customers, and supervisors.
- Address and report any issues or concerns from the field.
- Ensure smooth communication and teamwork among all parties.
Requirements:
Bilingual (English & Spanish) – Required
Valid Driver’s License – Required
Experience in the poultry industry or related field preferred.
Ability to work flexible hours with early morning starts.
Comfortable traveling to farms and assisting crews with physical labor.
Willingness to operate a Moffett as needed (training can be provided).
Strong leadership and communication skills.
