Job Description:
We are hiring an experienced Data Analyst to work for us as our direct, W2 salaried or hourly employee.
As a Data Analyst, you will be at the forefront of our data management efforts, ensuring the integrity, quality, and strategic alignment of our data assets. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that meet client needs and support our organizational goals. Your expertise will help shape the future of our data management practices and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Management & Quality:Execute data management activities, focusing on data quality and asset management to uphold the highest standards of data integrity.
- Collaborative Analysis:Work within an agile team to apply advanced analysis techniques, develop solutions, and reverse engineer business and technical artifacts.
- Metadata Stewardship:Capture, store, and maintain relevant metadata for systems within the portfolio, ensuring comprehensive documentation and accessibility.
- Data Quality Assurance:Develop and maintain data quality assessments and profiles, collaborating with data stewards to address and resolve issues.
- Stakeholder Engagement:Communicate complex data concepts to stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations for data-driven decision-making.
- ETL Development:Design and implement ETL routines to integrate and curate disparate data sets, optimizing data flow and usability.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze operational activities for informed decision-making and resource allocation.
- Convey complex data management topics to stakeholders and leadership.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to update business and technical metadata.
- Reverse engineer data models to extract and load metadata into repositories.
- Detect and correct data quality issues, ensuring historical data accuracy.
- Collect and analyze data to enhance stakeholder business practices.
- Develop ETL routines to curate and integrate diverse data sets.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, with 5 years of experience.
- Proficiency in ETL or data movement software (e.g., StreamSets, DataBricks, Jupyter Notebooks).
- Strong SQL skills for data analysis, quality, and profiling.
- Experience in scripting languages and ETL performance optimization.
- Experience with large data sets in enterprise-level data warehousing/lake environments.
- Experience creating data mapping documentation for databases, interfaces, and applications.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience with AF Logistics systems and data.
- Proficiency in Python and other programming languages.
- Experience in requirements elicitation and stakeholder engagement.
- Background in Information Management, including data design, transformation, governance, or other recognized data management practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Logical thinker with the ability to articulate thoughts verbally and diagrammatically.
- Experience in logical data modeling and data normalization.
- Ability to interpret data and analyze results using statistical techniques.
- Knowledge of data collection systems and their strategies.
