Job Description:
We are hiring an experienced Google Cloud Engineer to work for us as our direct, W2 salaried or hourly employee to join our team. You will:
- Design, develop, and deploy cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) to support data analytics, application modernization, and AI/ML initiatives.
- Migrate legacy applications to modern cloud architectures using services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine(GKE), App Engine, and Cloud Functions.
- Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, and
- Develop and deploy machine learning models using Vertex AI, including AutoML and custom model training.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across Google Cloud Platform services.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, present solutions, and ensure successful project delivery. Stay up to date on the latest Google Cloud Platform technologies and trends.
- Works with IT Architecture staff, CIO, software developers and IT Managers designing solutions that meet the agency s requirements; assists in analysis of the solution design s business case; authors portions of the solution business case.
- Assists with planning, configuration, and extension of MS Azure DevOps, V Net, AppService, App Proxy, Pipelines, and other PaaS Works within Agile principles and methodologies.
- Ensures current and/or future business process flows are defined and documented; conducts detailed alternative analyses and determines end-user requirement(s); consults with end-users, technicians, vendors, management, and others; leads design reviews; provides post-production support for applications varying in size, scope and impact to agency operations.
- Develops pass/fail testing criteria; assesses overall system performance, including optimizing code and identifying and resolving peripheral software/hardware conflicts; finalizes implementation of plans, procedures, and schedules; conducts lessons learned (testing perspective) and coordinates improvements to enterprise testing processes; understands technical environments and impacts on software execution to identify environmental components to be reviewed for adequacy.
- Core Services: Proficiency in Compute Engine, GKE, App Engine, Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Vertex AI.
- Advanced Skills: Experience with Cloud SQL, Apigee, API Gateway, security tools (IAM, Security Command Center), networking services (VPC, Cloud Load Balancing),Terraform, or Deployment Manager.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaboration: Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving: Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot issues and optimize cloud solutions.
- Certification: Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer strongly preferred.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Cloud-Native Solution Development: Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) to support data analytics, application modernization, and AI/ML initiatives.
- Machine Learning with Vertex AI: Experience in developing and deploying machine learning models using Vertex AI, including AutoML and custom model training.
- Security Best Practices: Expertise in implementing and enforcing security best practices across Google Cloud Platform services, ensuring secure deployment and operation of cloud-based applications.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with IT Architecture staff, CIO, software developers, and IT Managers to design solutions that meet agency requirements.
- DevOps & PaaS Configuration: Experience in planning, configuring, and extending MS Azure DevOps, VNet, App Service, App Proxy, Pipelines, and other PaaS offerings.
- Business Process Flow Documentation: Ability to define and document current and future business process flows, and conduct detailed alternative analyses.
- System Testing & Performance: Experience in developing pass/fail testing criteria, and assessing overall system performance to ensure optimal results.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
