Job Description:
We are hiring an experienced Business Systems Analyst to work for us as our direct, W2 salaried or hourly employee to join our team. You will work for our government client in a potential long-term, multi-year contract. This position is suitable only for candidates who currently live within one hour of driving distance of Columbus, OH because of the on-site work requirement. You will:
- Work on site as needed, at least two days per week, in the client’s office in Columbus.
- Provide program assistance to state and contracted information technology professionals
- Gather information from various sources (business, technical teams, and legacy artifacts) during the project's inception and help ensure the documented requirements are met during design, development, and testing activities.
- Help the organization see the big picture and envision solutions
- Work on a project to retire legacy technologies (COBOL running on AS/400)
- Understand current business processes and promote a viable future state based on OAC and ORC codes.
- Develop business analyst process standards, including criteria for a Definition of Ready (DoR).
- Develop and refine user stories to meet the DoR
- Develop supporting artifacts such as journey maps, business workflows, and enterprise analysis, develop templates, and more based on interviews with the technical team, business team, and subject matter experts.
- Assist the product owner in writing requirements, defining acceptance criteria, and managing the state of user stories throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC)/ Project lifecycle.
- Use a variety of tools, including MS Excel, MS Word, VISIO, and PowerPoint, to develop mock-ups and artifacts.
- Work closely with the development team to address questions discovered during the development phase and validate that the code developed matches the requirements and acceptance criteria defined in user stories.
- Assist with creating and coordinating test plans for business users and assist with test case creation.
- May need to facilitate engagements between the product owner/business stakeholders and development team.
- Work closely with the client release management resources to support code/data movement to production.
