JOB SUMMARY:

The Communications Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing effective communications and engagement efforts that support and advance the mission of Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center. Overseeing an integrated program that includes print publications, social media, and digital communication, the Communications Manager ensures that communications reflect the brand in a consistent, relevant manner. Copy writing and representing Dee Norton through written word is a critical function of this role. As a member of the Philanthropy and Communications team, the Manager will represent Dee Norton and be able to articulate and demonstrate its mission and values.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:

A bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution is required

At least four years’ experience in fundraising, communications, and/or marketing is desired.

Technical skills: WordPress, Canva, Adobe, Meta Business Suite, Office Suite, Google Analytics, Google Docs, Egnyte, Raisers Edge NXT or other CRM, Email Marketing

JOB DETAILS:

Communications:

  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan using website, social media, video, targeted advertising, and community outreach to increase awareness and understanding of Dee Norton’s services in the community, engage supporters, and develop new relationships.
  • Develop and share appropriate and relevant content for social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and Linked In.
  • Maintain website by posting timely information, promoting events, assisting Dee Norton staff with writing blog posts and keeping media library current.
  • Track and monitor marketing stats of printed and digital resources, e-newsletters, social media engagement, and public events for grant reporting and to evaluate effectiveness.
  • ·Oversee the development and distribution of all print and electronic collateral from each department, including, but not limited to, the annual report and monthly e-newsletters.
  • Support the Director of Philanthropy and Philanthropy Coordinator in production and coordination of funding appeals.
  • Create and manage an annual April public awareness campaign focused on prevention.
  • Execute a communications plan for all fundraising events in collaboration with the Philanthropy Coordinator.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all media relations. Write press alerts or press releases as appropriate that reflect the strategic content calendar.
  • Field media inquiries and coordinate interviews with the ED or other members of the leadership team as appropriate.

Engagement:

  • Manage requests from the community regarding speakers, "workday" projects, and public awareness events.
  • Conduct tours of the Dee Norton facility as necessary.
  • Represent Dee Norton at community functions, speaking when requested.
  • Identify award opportunities and submit award nominations in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy and Communications.
  • Handle volunteer requests and route accordingly.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and printers to negotiate pricing and production schedules.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:·

  • Participate in a minimum of two public awareness and/or fundraising events annually on behalf of Dee Norton.
  • Meet other needs as identified by the Executive Director and/or Leadership Team.
  • Abide by federal and state confidentiality and privacy requirements as well as all Dee Norton Policies and Procedures.
  • Abide by and meet all grant requirements and objectives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

In this position an employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 lbs. Must be able to work on a computer and/or telephone for extended periods of time.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
