Job Description:
We’re looking for an enthusiastic and organized Assistant Manager to join Dee-O-Gee Billings. In this role, you’ll partner with the Store Manager to oversee daily operations, lead our team, and ensure both our retail store and grooming salon deliver top-notch experiences for pets and their owners. If you love animals and thrive in a leadership role, this is the perfect opportunity for you. The standard working hours for this position are Tuesday through Saturday, with shifts scheduled between 8:30 AM and 7:15 PM based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily operations of the store and grooming salon, including opening and closing duties.
- Supervise and inspire team members to meet sales targets, maintain excellent customer service, and uphold grooming standards.
- Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure pets and their owners leave happy.
- Oversee inventory of products, coordinate stock replenishment, and conduct regular checks.
- Support the grooming team by coordinating appointments and ensuring a safe, clean salon environment.
- Train and onboard new staff, fostering a positive, pet-loving team culture.
- Assist with staff scheduling, budgeting, and enforcing company policies alongside the Store Manager.
- Maintain a tidy, inviting store and salon space that reflects our commitment to natural pet care.
- Act as manager when the Store Manager is unavailable.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in retail, pet care, or customer service (management or grooming experience a plus).
- Strong leadership and communication skills with a knack for motivating a team.
- Comfortable multitasking and solving problems in a lively, pet-friendly environment.
- Basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office) and familiarity with point-of-sale or booking systems.
- Passion for pets, natural products, and exceptional customer service.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
