POSITION SUMMARY — Analyze, design, develop, test, document, and implement new or existing software to meet ongoing software development needs. Ability to manage integration between various business systems and provide in-depth technical and business knowledge to handle complex issues. Ensure software meets business requirements, follows development standards, and maintains data integrity. Follow established processes for the software development life cycle with a customer focus delivering software and system solutions. Exhibits strong communication skills with a passion for customer support in interacting with product owners, and acts with a sense of urgency when warranted. Train and mentor software developers on intermediate to advanced programming techniques and standards. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   WORK ENVIRONMENT — Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Design, code, test, debug, document, and implement changes to new and existing software applications using C#, VB.NET, MVC, T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, Entity Framework, Dapper, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, JSON, Web API and SignalR as well as other technologies as needed Create, maintain, and modify SQL server databases, indexes, jobs, and security Conduct thorough testing of programs and software applications to ensure the desired results and that the requirements were met Manage code within source control to ensure data integrity and recoverability Mentor software developers on source control branching techniques and pull requests Code review source control pull requests to provide guidance and training to software developers Perform modifications, bug fixes, and enhancements of existing programs to increase operating efficiency or adapt to new requirements Refactor code to improve speed, maintainability, and readability Take ownership of business system maintenance tasks and complete them independently Ability to search the Internet to find solutions to technical problems Consult with managerial, engineering, technical personnel, and end users to clarify program intent, identify problems, and recommend improvements Perform impact analysis to assess risk when making code changes to integrated business systems Concisely and accurately document technical and business processes and self-document code to clearly state its intent to other developers Prepare detailed flow charts and mockups that translate complex technical workflows into a format that is easily understood by end users and convert them into a computer program Lead development projects through the entire system development lifecycle with minimal input from senior developers and management Consult with and assist customers to define and resolve problems in computer programs Develop applications that interface with SQL Server databases and develop SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) labels and reports Write professional, polished instructions or manuals to guide end users Ability to quickly assess a business problem and provide accurate time estimates Availability for after-hours support on an as needed or rotating basis Other duties as assigned Ability to stop the production line and prevent shipment of products due to nonconformance or potential nonconformance products to our customers Support the environmental policy with proactive process implementation, improvement suggestions, reducing waste, and acting on environment performance results and findings  SKILLS & ABILITIES Extensive computer skills Strong aptitude to learn new systems and business systems interfaces Ability to work either as a team or independently Train and mentor software developers Experience with and supportive of Agile methods Detail oriented Excellent problem solving and analytical abilities Customer service oriented Strong communication skills Ability to search the Internet to find solutions to technical problems Ability to multitask and prioritize, focusing on the business needs    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred, any degree or technical schooling would be an advantage Experience: Five to ten years of IT software development experience in C#, VB.NET, and T-SQL preferred; experience in a manufacturing environment and supporting ERP systems would be an advantage. Experience working in an agile environment is a plus. Computer Skills: Must demonstrate computer literacy; experience with and understanding of Microsoft Visual Studio using C# and VB.NET, MVC, Azure DevOps, Web Services, Git source control, T-SQL, relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server), Microsoft SSMS, SSRS and SSIS, ERP software,mobile device (barcode scanners) development, warehouse management systems, Clippership/Kewill Integration, Microsoft Office, and Fourth Shift. Knowledge of CSS, Bootstrap, Entity Framework, Dapper, Web API, jQuery, JSON, SignalR, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Adobe Photoshop, and Paint.NET is a plus.
