Position Summary:
DEEM, LLC is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to join our Indianapolis, IN office. The Electrical Designer will be responsible for the design and development of electrical systems for a variety of commercial, institutional, and industrial projects. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop construction documents (drawings and specifications) for electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low voltage systems.
- Perform load calculations, short circuit analysis, and voltage drop calculations.
- Select electrical equipment and components based on project requirements and code compliance.
- Coordinate with mechanical and architectural teams for system integration.
- Perform site surveys and field verifications for proposals and active projects.
- Attend and represent DEEM at client meetings and project coordination sessions.
- Participate in project review meetings and offer technical insights.
- Provide support during construction, including submittal reviews and field inspections.
- Ensure all design work is compliant with applicable codes and standards.
Education and Licensure:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications:
- 3 years of electrical design experience in commercial, institutional, or industrial settings.
- Proficiency in Revit is required.
- Familiarity with electrical load analysis software (e.g., SKM, ETAP, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of NEC and other applicable codes and standards.
- Experience with lighting design and controls.
- Demonstrates strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage design workflow and meet deadlines.
- Experience with project budgeting is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Technically adept with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to take project from start to finish with minimal direction.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
