Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration Technician with experience in rack refrigeration systems typically found in grocery stores. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one or more of the following commercial trades: plumbing/pipefitting, brazing, carpentry, and case fitting. This role focuses on the installation and start-up of refrigeration equipment, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with industry standards.

DEEM, LLC is a commercial mechanical and electrical contractor offering services in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Refrigeration, Industrial Piping, Building Automation, and Sheet Metal Installation. Based in Indianapolis, Indiana, we have satellite offices across the Midwest and Southeastern United States.
Key Responsibilities:
Rack Refrigeration System Installation:
- Assemble, position, and connect components of rack refrigeration units in grocery store environments.
- Install associated control systems and ensure all wiring, piping, and connections meet safety and quality standards.
System Startup:
- Perform initial startups, verify proper operation, and troubleshoot any immediate installation issues.
- Test system performance and fine-tune settings to ensure optimal functionality.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal installation regulations and standards.
- Maintain clear and accurate installation records for each project.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and other contractors to complete installations on schedule and within specifications.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical training or certification in HVAC/R installation preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in rack refrigeration system installation.
Licensing & Certification:
- EPA certification preferred.
- OSHA 10 and/or 30 preferred.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of commercial refrigeration system components and their assembly.
- Experience in reading and interpreting technical diagrams, schematics, and construction plans preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environmental conditions.
- Comfortable working at heights if necessary.
Additional Requirements:
- Successfully pass a background check and drug screening.
- Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $45.00 per hour
