What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machine Learning Applied Scientist position at Deep Market Making Inc.?

Join the Team Shaping the Future of AI with Large Event Models (LEMs)

We are pioneering a groundbreaking new modality in AI: Large Event Models (LEMs). Like Large

Language Models (LLMs) revolutionized text and communication, LEMs are set to redefine how we

understand, predict, and simulate events across complex systems. At Deep Market Making, we’ve already built the most accurate AI for predicting bond trade prices and are expanding this expertise into broader markets. We’re inviting passionate innovators to join our founding team, working for equity at this transformative stage. If you’re a visionary who thrives on creating technology with the potential for global impact, let’s shape the future together.

What We’re Looking For in a Machine Learning Applied Scientist

We are seeking an elite Machine Learning Applied Scientist who is deeply curious, technically

exceptional, and motivated to push the boundaries of what AI can achieve. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI and help build transformative Large Event Models (LEMs) with global impact.

The Ideal Candidate Will Embody The Following Qualities

Technical Expertise

  • Deep ML Expertise: You have an advanced understanding of machine learning, including deep

learning architectures (e.g., transformers, recurrent neural networks), probabilistic models, and

applied statistics. Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX is essential.

  • Model Optimization: You can design and train large-scale models, understand trade-offs in

accuracy vs. efficiency, and optimize for high-performance inference on GPUs/TPUs.

  • Data Engineering: You are skilled in feature engineering, large-scale data handling, and building

pipelines for structured and unstructured data.

  • Causal Inference and Evaluation: You have a strong grasp of causal inference, experimental

design, and A/B testing frameworks.

  • Algorithm Design: You can implement cutting-edge algorithms and improve existing models

through logical, empirical, and mathematical approaches.

Core Values

  • Loyalty: You are committed to long-term goals, willing to tackle hard challenges and work through

periods of little immediate reward, motivated by the promise of outsized success.

  • Trustworthiness: Integrity is a cornerstone. You prioritize clear and honest communication,

especially when addressing issues or risks.

  • Conscientiousness: Details matter, especially in high-stakes environments. You build models and

pipelines that are reliable, reproducible, and robust.

  • Truth-Seeking: You embrace sound logical arguments and empirical data, adjusting your approach when new evidence emerges.
  • Respect: While your expertise may often place you as the smartest person in the room, you value diverse perspectives and understand decisions may sometimes require non-technical

considerations.

Intellectual Caliber

  • Exceptional Intelligence: You demonstrate outstanding intellectual ability through:

 - Documented 99th percentile SAT/ACT scores in science or math.

 - Advanced degrees in a technical field from a top-tier institution.

 - A history of groundbreaking achievements or contributions in research or applied science.

Purpose-Driven

  • Value-Oriented: You are driven to create real, tangible value for customers and shareholders,

with a sharp focus on how your work contributes to larger goals.

If you are ready to redefine the frontier of AI, build revolutionary Large Event Models (LEMs), and join a

high-performing, visionary team, we want to hear from you. This is your chance to help shape the future of AI and create transformative impact in capital markets
