Summer Team Leader/Camp Counselor
Camp Team Leader Summer camp leaders provide instruction in outdoor recreation and outdoor science-based camps. Camp activities include wildlife conservation, firearms safety training, canoeing, archery, hiking, indoor rock wall, camping, ecology, renewable energy and much more on the 6,307 acre Deep Portage Conservation Reserve.
If you are a young outdoors oriented person, or willing to train this is a once in a lifetime camp employment experience to pass it on to the next generation. Throughout the 10-week season staff can expect to instruct on a variety of outdoor skills to diverse audiences ranging in age from 9-16. Develop your teaching skills and broaden your own outdoor experiences in a beautiful northern Minnesota setting. This position is commonly used to fulfill internship requirements for undergraduate education, recreation, and outdoor education programs.
Qualifications:
- Currently working toward an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree
- Experience working with youth
- Upper level high school students with youth or camp experience are welcomed to apply and will receive Counselor in Training pay rate (TBD on qualifications and time commitment)
Dates of Employment: June 2, 2025-August 8, 2023.
Salary: High quality staff housing and food are provided. Salary starts at $375/week. Room and board included
