Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Operations Field Engineering Intern to join our team. As an Operations Field Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of drill-out operations, well intervention, and completion design. You will work closely with our experienced Operations Engineers and field personnel to learn about the latest techniques and technologies used in the industry.
This internship will consist of field rotations (14 days on, 7 days off) through multiple locations across our Business Units in Midland, Texas and the Appalachia Region (PA, WV, OH) for approximately two thirds of the internship duration. The last third of the program, the candidate will be working on assigned projects by the Operations Engineering Team in the Zelienople, PA office.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Operations Engineering team in KPI preparation and operational analysis projects.
- Assist in the planning and execution of hydraulic completion unit operations (HCU).
- Learn about well intervention techniques involving hydraulic completion units.
- Assist in the design and implementation of well completions.
- Learn about snubbing equipment and its maintenance.
- Assist in the preparation of well completion and drill out programs.
- Learn about well control and safety procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of HCU equipment for operations.
- Learn about the latest techniques and technologies used in the industry.
- Assist in the preparation of equipment for transportation to and from the job site.
- Attend training sessions to enhance knowledge of industry best practices
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
- Willingness to work in remote and physically demanding locations
- No prior experience is required, but candidates with coursework or projects in engineering, mechanics, or a related field are preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with tools and equipment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Power BI is a plus
