The Excavation Support person is a laborer who performs a variety of manual tasks outdoors in all weather conditions; including digging, laying conduit, helping with machinery, etc. This is all done while working in a safe and effective manner.
Deeply Digital's outside plant focuses primarily on placing underground and aerial fiber for telecommunications. Its services include line, coaxial, and optical fiber cable placement, splicing, and home installation.

Job description
Job Summary:
Reporting to the GIS Manager and OSP Engineering Manager, the GIS/OSP Field Technician is responsible for the field data collection needed for aerial and underground design as well as collecting as-built data for active and completed projects.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collect field data for pole engineering using Katapult Pro with another team member.
- Complete Katapult Pro Training Program with OSP Engineering Manager to annotate, trace, and eventually make ready poles as training goes on and employee gains experience in the position.
- Field proof Katapult aerial design and make changes as needed with approval by OSP Engineering Manager.
- Collect field data for underground design using Field Maps and a GPS to identify existing utilities and proof proposed design routes.
- Collect as-built mapping data for up-to-date records of constructed fiber plant in Clearnetworx’s service territory.
- Assist OSP Engineer(s) with the field data collection for Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) reports with plans and profiles for CDOT permits and other agencies.
- Assist OSP Engineering Manager and the Construction Team with performing audits on existing pole attachments to ensure construction meets the guidelines that were designed, and identify any areas that need to be remedied.
- Assist GIS Manager and OSP Engineer(s) with performing audits on the existing Clearnetworx network for future designs as well as mainline extensions.
- Represent Clearnetworx and Deeply Digital professionally to satisfy immediate customer needs and to foster good customer relations.
- Respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, supervisors and the general public.
- Maintain regular, consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, and personal appearance according to company policies.
- Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role and those of the project team.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 50 per week
