What are the responsibilities and job description for the Offshore Subsea Controls Electrical Technician position at Deepsea Technologies?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Read, understand, and interpret schematics, P&IDs, sketches, and written instructions to assemble parts or products as well as operations of equipment.
- Assembles and tests subsea production control system and drilling control HPUs, subsea distribution hardware & assemblies according to company, customer and industry specifications.
- Ensures that safety is of the utmost priority when operating, assembling and testing equipment.
- Participates in Deepsea Technologies Safety and Quality observation programs.
- Ensure that quality process and procedures are followed.
- Performs maintenance and operations of rental equipment both onshore and offshore.
- Performs fluid analysis on various types of control fluids and / or chemicals.
- Perform both High Voltage and Low Voltage terminations and diagnostics.
- Troubleshoots problems, identifies and communicates design discrepancies. Identifies and suggests design improvements.
- Completes required documentation, including but not limited to : daily progress reports, service tickets, test reports, failed test reports and Non-Conformance Reports.
- Prepares test procedures and operations / maintenance manuals in accordances with customer and industry standards and specifications
- Domestic and international travel required.
- Must have a valid passport.
- Perform various diagnostics tests on long electrical conductors and fiber optic cables. This may include TDR, OTDR, CR, IR, etc...
- Install Fiber Optic Connection end terminations.
