Position Overview

The Security Program Manager (SPM) is a professional who leads both strategic client programs, as well as tactical projects, ensuring exceptional delivery and execution of client expectations in-line with contractual requirements. This position is a critical member of our cybersecurity solutions delivery team. The Security Program Manager (SPM) is responsible for ensuring client programs have established delivery teams, program and project plans, maintaining project and program health, and for successful project and program delivery in accordance with scope of work. This position is a critical member of our cybersecurity solutions delivery team. The Security Program Manager advocates for the client's program ensuring expected outcomes and success criteria are achieved. The Security Program Manager consistently interact with our clients' executive leadership and board of directors so strong, professional communication skills are required. The ideal candidate thrives, excels, and easily adapts in a fast-paced work environment. This role may support other team members as required.

Key Responsibilities


  • Expected to manage Enterprise, Strategic, International (ESI) and high Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) accounts.

  • May be expected to team with other SPMs as it pertains to high MRR or ESI accounts.

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage service delivery for individual projects and multi-year managed contracts, and report on the key metrics.

  • Maintains and applies a broad understanding of financial management principles to ensure decisions are fiscally sound and responsible.

  • Ensure delivery is in-line with scope of contract and aligned with client expectations, including budget, resource assignment, and project hours estimates

  • Identify and manage changes through a formal change control process.

  • Manage multiple program and project schedules to meet deadlines including:
    o Milestones, Deliverables and Timelines.

  • Lead, coordinate, and plan client facing meetings including: Initialization calls, Status calls, Annual program reviews, Close out calls

  • Work collaboratively with multiple service teams and other departments, including business development, finance, solutioning and sales operations.

  • Efficiently and effectively leverage project management software for planning, monitoring and controlling, and reporting.

  • Serve as primary client contact for customer questions, concerns, status updates, etc.

  • Ensure program and project scope are actively managed and maintained.

  • Committed to client success and behaviors that drive transformation, success, and long-term retention.

  • Demonstrate and share advance knowledge of industry best practices (PMI), techniques, and standards throughout entire project and program life cycle and with team members.

  • Monitor and control project execution throughout the entire project lifecycle.

  • Develop an understanding of key industry and cyber regulations (GLBA, DFARS, CMMC, DFS, HIPAA) as well as Deep Seas services and solutions, to enhance communications with experienced cybersecurity professionals both internally and externally.

  • Good understanding of company offerings, their purpose, relationship and how they effectively work together to address/solve client needs.

  • Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity knowledge to include industry trends, competing offerings/approaches and key business drivers.

  • Lead, Support, and contribute to:
    o Process improvement, Industry updates and knowledge shareand Mentorship of Junior Resources

  • Support department managers as needed administratively and operationally, and serve as a PACE (Proactive, Alignment, Communication, Expected Results) role model for departments and company-at-large.

  • Training and Professional Development:
    o Achieve industry certifications as needed to align with department and business objectives.
    o Maintain proficiency and awareness in:

  • Security services, industry trends, tactics, techniques, and process

  • Project Management tools, where applicable

  • Internal business applications

  • Provide Mentorship to Junior team members



Skills Knowledge and Expertise


  • 6-8 years of project and program management experience.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Cybersecurity experience preferred.

  • Experience managing client relationships.

  • Proficient with Project Management tools such as Mavenlink, Project Plan templates, Roadmap Workbook, presentation materials and Microsoft Teams.

  • Demonstrated history to meet/exceed department KPIs, including: Managing to project/program budgets, Profitability, Internal and external feedback

  • Ability to clearly engage, influence and guide executive and board-level professionals.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to perform:


o Professional and engaging presentation skills
o Critical thinking and problem-solving logic
• Time management skills required, and ability to meet deadlines.
