We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Manager to oversee a multidisciplinary team of engineers in the development of ML-enhanced 5G transceivers. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating high-level product goals into technical tasks, guiding the team through development processes, and ensuring the successful integration of our software within a variety of RAN platforms. This role involves direct supervision of a diverse team, collaboration with upper management, and contributing to the strategic direction of our ML-enhanced technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a diverse team of ML, Electrical, and Software Engineers
- Assist in guiding the roadmap of future development by identifying key areas where non-linear, ML-enhanced solutions will have the most impact
- Stay up-to-date with current and future 3GPP specifications, study items, and work items
- Assist DeepSig’s 3GPP Specifications Team in the identification of proposal items for 6G
- Oversee and aid the team in the design and implementation of reference receivers, reference signals, simulated transmitters, channel conditions, and combined scenarios to improve the training and validation of our 5G capabilities.
- Supervise the software product package development and integration efforts with a variety of potential hardware and vRAN platforms.
- Provide regular updates to upper management, including the CEO, CTO, and 5G Program Manager.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years experience in LTE/NR baseband transmitter and receiver design, implementation, and testing
- Ability and desire to work in a flexible, fast-paced, and dynamic startup environment
- Proven leadership experience, capable of managing a multidisciplinary engineering team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to guide the team through technical challenges.
- Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with team members, partners, and customers
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience with O-RAN compliant base stations and vRAN platforms.
- Understanding of telecom industry standards and the ability to contribute to 3GPP Working Groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills, capable of mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, and effectively communicating with executive leadership.
