This position is located at Deer Lodge Medical Center in Deer Lodge Montana. As a Gold Re-Certified member of the Planetree Network, DLMC achieves excellence in person-centered care. We are hiring a Full-time Receptionist who will cross train in several areas to include the Rural Health Clinic, Laboratory, Outpatient Services, Emergency Department and Rehab Services. This position will be available to fill-in when needed in any one of these areas. The position includes a variety of front office activities and functions. Duties include maintaining the reception area, greeting patients, scheduling patient appointments, verifying patient benefits, maintaining patient records and accounts, and basic office and clinic supply ordering. Qualifications:
· 1 Year Front Desk experience, scheduling experience preferred.
· Insurance Verification and Insurance Authorization experience.
· High School Diploma or equivalent certification required.
· Accurate typing of at least 50 wpm.
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with patients, partners, staff, and colleagues in a professional courteous manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
1. Provide Receptionist backup for Lab, Clinic Reception, Outpatient Services, Physical Therapy Department and Emergency Department as needed.
2. Schedule and Register patients. Confirm, enter, and/or update all required demographic data on patients and guarantor on registration system. Avoid overlays and duplicate patient medical records.
3. Verify insurance to determine coordination of benefits and obtain authorization and/or referrals as required. Screen for and process non-covered services and waiver of liability (ABN) through automated screening at time of service.
4. Inform self-pay patients of liability due, prepayment requirements and coordinate screening of alternate funding sources if applicable. Provide patient Estimates when requested.
5. Collect patient payments and provide accurate receipt.
6. Maintain departmental and/or individual work queues and reports as required.
7. Obtain Medicaid passport approval from various outside providers for all Medicaid visits.
8. Complete Medicaid Presumptive eligibility training. Process Medicaid Presumptive Applications for patients who qualify.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assist Business Office staff as needed, and as directed by the Patient Access Manager
2. Coordination with hospital staff on schedule building and prior authorization completion
3. Any other assigned duties.
