If you are an experienced Art Teacher looking to work with campers in a relaxed, creative setting, we want to speak with you about this job. Deer Mountain is looking for a Fine Arts instructor with experience working with elementary and middle school aged students to lead our Arts Program. The curriculum includes basic art & crafts projects such as paper mâché, lanyard and decoupage as well as watercolor painting, shading and texture. In Upper Camp we also develop a series of studio art offerings like charcoal drawing, still life painting, 3D art and print making, etc.
Basic Responsibilities:
- Generate curriculum ideas, lesson plans and samples for the projects that will be executed. Lead craft sessions.
- Generate an order and supply list for the program.
Camp Dates:
- 2025 Camp Dates: Monday, June 30th to Thursday, August 21st
- Closed for July 4th
- Monday to Friday: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
- Some pre-season training and curriculum planning required
- Daily lunch and snacks provided
Requirements:
- Post-college candidate. Minimum of 2 years teaching experience preferred.
- Able to instruct in several art disciplines, including but not limited to painting, drawing, general arts & crafts, and sculpture.
- Fun, kind, caring and motivating personality.
- Basic Photography skills is a plus
