Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Weekend RN Supervisor. In this role, you will manage and oversee all nursing staff working during the weekend shift (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday), ensuring optimal patient care, staff coordination, and efficient clinical operations. The Weekend RN Supervisor will serve as a leadership presence, addressing any concerns, supporting the team, and ensuring the facility’s high standards of care are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Management: Supervise and lead nursing staff during the weekend shifts, providing direction, support, and guidance as needed. Ensure staffing levels are appropriate and manage scheduling for weekend shifts.
- Patient Care Oversight: Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care by monitoring and evaluating patient conditions, reviewing care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to address patient needs.
- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, assist with complex patient care needs, and promote a culture of continuous improvement in nursing practices.
- Problem Resolution: Address and resolve any clinical or operational issues that arise during weekend shifts. Act as a point of escalation for nursing staff, patients, and family members.
- Documentation & Compliance: Ensure that all nursing documentation is accurate, timely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Assist with audits and reviews as required.
- Training and Development: Support ongoing education and development of nursing staff by offering mentorship, guidance, and opportunities for skill enhancement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including physicians and administrative staff, to ensure smooth operations and high-quality care delivery over the weekend.
- On-Call Support: Be available for urgent issues or staffing concerns that may arise outside of regularly scheduled shifts.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
- Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Previous experience in an acute care, long-term care, or relevant healthcare setting preferred.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and priorities.
- CPR and BLS certifications required; ACLS preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during shifts.
- Ability to lift, move, or transfer patients as necessary, in compliance with facility protocols.
