This position will cover the Modesto to Stockton area.
What you will do:
As a Grower Advisor, you will partner with the Grower Relations team in a dynamic, fast paced environment. You will create nutritional and fertility recommendations based off visual observations and soil or tissue analysis. You will meet frequently with growers to preserve a close and prosperous relationship for DPG and the growers.
- Foster a strong relationship with Deerpoint Group customers to exceed business goals
- Scout crops for nutritional deficiencies / luxuries, overall health, and production
- Create fertility recommendations
- Maintain a strong knowledge of all of DPG’s programs, products and capabilities
- Write and conduct with the customer, technical reports (soil and tissue) and business reviews as appropriate
- Effectively utilize CRM to distribute customer info / needs to all DPG departments
- Company vehicle, cell phone and laptop provided.
Education Requirement:
- B.S. in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Nutrition or other life sciences
- PCA, CCA, and QAL preferred
Minimum Qualifications
Experience Two to three years of field experience in plant nutrition, soil science, or other agricultural related science, technical understanding of plant nutrition is essential.
Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills; Proficiency in computer processing functions and other standard office equipment; ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks; Ability to read, comprehend reports and analyze data and explain clearly and concisely to others; Ability to calmly and professionally resolve issues with diplomacy and tact; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Strong organizational skills
Physical Requirements: Visual acuity to read a computer screen and paper documents; close and distance vision, peripheral vision depth perception, ability to adjust focus; hearing acuity to converse with staff and customers in person and by phone; ability to walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and lift and move 10 pounds on a regular basis, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds; ability to sit for hours at a time, as well as drive for hours at a time.
Working Conditions:
This position functions in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to a variety of work environments; which include outside weather conditions and exposure to machinery and equipment with moving parts. Employee may be subject to hazardous chemicals and chemical waste, with exposure to moderate noise levels.
