Resort Director

Hawks Cay Resort, a luxurious resort nestled in the heart of the Florida Keys, is seeking an experienced and visionary Resort Director to lead the operations of our premier resort. The Resort Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of resort management, ensuring a seamless and exceptional guest experience while driving operational excellence across all departments. This leadership role demands a strong focus on guest satisfaction, team management, and strategic growth.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in resort or hotel management, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for hospitality. As Resort Director, you will work closely with the General Manager and the senior leadership team to ensure the resort’s standards are met and exceeded, while maintaining financial profitability and a welcoming atmosphere for both guests and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of Hawks Cay Resort, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction, quality service, and operational efficiency across all departments, including front desk, housekeeping, food & beverage, recreation, and maintenance.
• Lead and motivate a diverse team of department heads, ensuring effective communication and collaboration between all operational areas.
• Develop, implement, and monitor resort policies, procedures, and standards to ensure the smooth functioning of the resort and adherence to safety regulations and quality expectations.
• Monitor financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control measures, to ensure the resort meets its revenue and profitability goals.
• Collaborate with the General Manager and senior leadership team to create and execute strategies for business growth, guest experience enhancement, and operational improvements.
• Lead the resort’s efforts to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, maintenance, and safety across all facilities and guest areas.
• Coordinate and execute resort-wide initiatives and special events, ensuring seamless execution and a memorable guest experience.
• Foster a positive and productive working environment by promoting employee development, motivation, and retention.
• Stay up to date on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings to ensure the resort remains competitive in the luxury hospitality market.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards, employee practices, and environmental sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in resort or hotel management, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in a luxury resort setting.
• Demonstrated success in managing a large, diverse team and driving operational excellence across multiple departments.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
• Proven ability to drive guest satisfaction and resolve complex issues effectively and professionally.
• A strong understanding of marketing, sales, and revenue management strategies within the hospitality industry.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a calm and composed demeanor.
• Proficient in the use of resort management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant systems.
• Knowledge of industry best practices and a commitment to delivering the highest standards of service.
