Managing Spa Operations and Revenue Strategy
- Monitors and Manages payroll, crew scheduling, inventory, and purchasing.
- Responsible for effectively managing labor hours to cover business needs while meeting or exceed budgeted goals.
- Selects vendors for spa retail operations and manages contract agreements.
- Oversees retail product research, product selection, purchasing, and product display.
- Monitors the spa's actual and projected sales to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded.
- Oversees the creation and management of all spa service offerings.
- Manages Spa controllable expenses such guest amenities, linen expense, professional salon products, retail products, decorations and paper supplies to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
- Leads monthly department meetings with spa crew members.
- Must be an ambassador in safety and take measures to quickly and effectively handle all concerns in regards to guests and crew members.
- Work hours/days vary as dictated by business needs, and may include weekends and holidays.
Ensuring and Delivering Exceptional Guest Service
- Displays leadership in guest hospitality, exemplifying excellent customer service, and creating a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
- Empowers crew members to provide excellence in customer service.
- Reviews comment cards, guest satisfaction results and other data to identify areas of improvement.
- Reviews findings with crew members to develop appropriate corrective action, sharing plans with property leadership and ensuring corrective action is taken to continuously improve results.
Managing Spa Sales and Marketing Strategy
- Creates and coordinates special services for groups including group amenities, letters and invitations, creating special spa services for specific groups and spa contracts addendum negotiations.
- Develops and Manages spa promotions including monthly features, membership programs, and holiday events.
- Ensures spa services are included in all property-related marketing and advertising.
- Identifies and recommends new products and services to remain competitive in the industry.
Conducting Human Resources Activities
- Interviews and hires supervisors and hourly crew members with the appropriate skills to meet the business needs of the operation.
- Develops, implements and maintains a spa orientation program for crew members to receive the appropriate new hire training needed to successfully perform their job duties.
- Administers the performance appraisal process for direct report crew members.
- Establishes and maintains open, collaborative relationships with crew members and ensures crew members do the same within the team.
- Utilizes an “open door” policy and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address crew member problems or concerns.
- Ensures that regular on-going communication is happening in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives and communicates expectations, recognizes performance, and producing desired business results.
- Celebrates successes and publicly recognizes the contributions of team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior Management experience, knowledge, and understanding of running a full service spa required. A passion for people and sales, high level of enthusiasm and demonstrated ability to balance coaching/mentoring with disciplining required. Additional requirements include excellent oral and written communication skills and excellent organizational skills. The ability to graciously deal with the general public (resort guests, staff, and visitors) in a warm, friendly and courteous manner is essential. Demonstrated, capable leadership is essential. Licensed providers with this experience in massage and or esthetics preferred. Reliable transportation is mandatory.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Although this position is not necessarily one that is physically strenuous, there will be occasions to lift cartons of merchandise from 30 to 50 lbs. Applicants should be in excellent physical condition with a strong back, arms, and legs; capable of reaching and bending without difficulty.
Applicants must be neat, well-groomed, well-poised, and possess a pleasant voice and demeanor. Must be able to establish a rapport with our team members, guests and customers, communicating with them in a warm, friendly, and courteous manner at all times.
