What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Branding position at Default Board?
Help manage the NCAA’s brand presence in event signage and decor at championships and non-championship events across the country. Represent the NCAA as an ambassador of the brand to external partners such as local organizing committees, creative agencies, member schools and conferences, and other stakeholder groups. Support and/or lead collaboration on branding projects throughout the national office.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the development and execution of the NCAA’s visual identity at championships. This includes event logos, taglines, and event signage and décor.
- Support the development and execution of the NCAA’s visual identity at non-championship events and related efforts.
- In-depth knowledge of the organization’s project management system (Asana), processes and reporting available.
- Create, review and interpret opportunity assessment decks that guide the creative identity of NCAA championships and other events.
- Serve as a liaison for signage and decor printing partners, supervising efficient management and distribution of basic and custom signage for NCAA championships.
- Collaborate with NCAA licensing and legal staff to address logo and trademark issues from vendors and the membership to determine current and future strategies for use of NCAA marks.
- Support with national office e-learning, conferences, events, annual reports and other deliverables on review of NCAA brand in their materials.
- Support of assigned budgets or budget line items as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Education required: bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum three years of experience preferred, with special consideration for previous branding work and/or a background within college athletics.
- Strong understanding of branding principles.
- Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics and the NCAA highly desirable.
- Finely tuned organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Estimated travel required: <20%.
- This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
