Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Manager, Championships

Job Function: The Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Manager provides critical project and analytical support to all functions within the Financial Planning & Analysis department. Reporting directly to the FP&A Managing Director, this role will own creating ad hoc analytics, modeling, and reporting to support the financial health of the NCAA and enable the mission of delivering a world-class athletics and academic experience for student-athletes.

 Job Responsibilities    

• Forecast Development & Delivery | Own the delivery of the monthly forecast consolidation and reporting package delivered to senior leadership, with insights and commentary.
• Business Partner to Championships | Work directly with internal leadership in Championships, to understand their financials, forecast, headcount position, risks, and opportunities to support both forecasting and budgeting. Provide comprehensive review and commentary to leadership.
• Reporting Packages | Build and deliver monthly financial reporting packages to leadership, including reviewing the results and looking for ways to drive simplicity, clarity, and insights. This includes monthly reporting packages, headcount reporting, quarterly variances reporting, and others.
• Committee Representation | Represent Finance for on key committees for supported Championships. Ensure these committees have data, financial modeling and thought partnership needed to drive initiatives and make organizational decisions.
• Budget Creation | Consolidate feedback from Champions, Supports, and around the NCAA organization to understand the drivers impacting the upcoming budget cycle. Create clear reporting and insights to leadership to understand the budget outlook. Support budget discussions with stakeholders, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure there is strong communication to stakeholders throughout the process.
• Ad Hoc Financial Modeling | Build complex financial models to assist with decision making for supported Championships. Flexibility and proven ability to prioritize is key.
• Project Support | Represent Finance on ongoing transformation projects, inclusive of system implementations such as planning, contract management, AP workflow changes and others aimed at improving financial visibility, data insights, and planning.
• Business Analytics | Bring together relevant datasets from potentially disparate data systems, understands what data is relevant, and create insightful analytics to provide insights to leadership. Develop KPIs, variance analytics, testing reviews and analytics. Deliver more than reports, but insights to leadership of financial drivers, opportunities and risks. Own the BI dashboards and KPIs for supported Championships, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
• Presentation Development | Create & deliver turn-key presentations to executive leadership to support committee discussions and initiative reviews with actionable insights to lead to meaningful discussion and decision-making.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements                                 

• Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field such as Finance, Business or Accounting.
• Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 
• 5 years of relevant, progressive finance experience and demonstrated leadership experience; 7 years preferred.
• Experienced with financial valuations, analytics, budgeting, forecasting, process improvement, project management, business case development.
• Excellent executive communication skills, including both verbal and presentation development.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and data visualization skills.
• Ability to conduct ad hoc financial analyses tailored to specific teams' needs.
• Ability to influence peers and manage upwards to drive meaningful change.
• Ability to drive financial innovation and adapt to changing business needs.
• Expert in Excel financial modeling.
• Have a curious and questioning mindset!
• Experience with Asana project management tool preferred.
• Experience with Oracle Business Suite (ERP, EPM, SmartView) preferred.
• Experience with financial and business intelligence (BI) tools such as Domo, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms preferred.
• Estimated Travel Required <10%
• This position will be based out of the national office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Current work environment is hybrid; 3 days in the office and 2 days are remote.
