Job Summary
The Funding Specialist ensures that all eligible clients are properly verified for insurance and set up for funding. Works with Counselors on the clients' requirements for documentation for insurance.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The essential functions include the following:
- Monthly MNITS insurance eligibility verification and communicate changes.
- Enter client information in Credible for admissions and discharges.
- Enter pending authorizations and tickets for clients that intake.
- Download SAL’s (service agreement letters) from MNITS and enter into Credible.
- Enter authorizations in DAANES and email DAANES Coordinator.
- Liaison between MNTC and counties regarding status of SAL’s for clients.
- Complete and fax IMD paperwork upon all admission and discharge on clients with CCDTF funding and upload in Credible.
- Assist with the correction of TIME errors.
- Update Doc Review.
- Track authorizations and notify counselors of remaining units.
- Weekly update and respond to Procentive tickets.
- Process insurance verification checks and financial responsibility forms and send to assessors and admissions.
- Call clients with commercial insurance 5 days after admission to go through coverage and responsibility.
- Deactivate clients that were on calendar but never admitted by running 3570 report.
- Communicate with billing specialist and provide support as needed.
- End of year authorization split for counties
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):
- High school diploma
- Associate’s degree preferred
- 2 years’ previous administrative or billing experience in a hospital setting
- Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/Outlook)
- Physician practice management system and/or EMR
- Highest integrity in the handling of financial matters.
- At least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances.
- Ability to learn and successfully complete assigned bookkeeping and accounting tasks.
- Computer skills including typing, 10-key, spreadsheets and general familiarity with database programs.
- Ability to learn various software programs to meet the needs of the organization.
- Ability to remain on task and accurately follow-through projects to their completion.
- Maintain professional standards of conduct and appearance with co-workers and the public.
- Possession of a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record that will be accepted by this organization’s vehicle insurance carrier.

Compensation range: $19-20 per hour
