Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Provides medical care to eligible beneficiaries
- Conducts physical examinations of infants and children
- Determines need for X-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests
- Interprets examination findings and test results
- Prescribes and administers appropriate treatment for the patient's needs and conditions
- Provides consultation
- Performs emergency treatment in cases of serious injury or illness
- Ensures access to care for the enrolled beneficiary population with a mixture of routine/health maintenance and urgent care/same day appointments
Additional Responsibilities
- Supervises Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)
- Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, difficulty of assignments, and the capabilities of employees
- Gives advice, counsel, and instruct employees on both work and administrative matters
- Develops performance plans and evaluates work performance of subordinate employees
- Effect minor disciplinary measures, such as warnings and reprimands, recommending other action in more serious cases
- Identifies developmental and training needs of employees; provides and/or arranges for needed development and training
