The Air Force Family Advocacy Program (FAP) is a Department of Defense (DoD) funded program whose purpose is to both prevent and respond to intimate partner, child abuse, and problematic sexual behavior with children and youth.

This position is located at Naval Health Clinic, Cherry Point , NC.

Responsibilities:

The Family Advocacy Treatment Manager (FATM) is a member of the multidisciplinary Family Advocacy Program (FAP) team and works in the following prioritized capacities:
  • Assess individual, couples and families referred for suspected maltreatment; provide clinical counseling and case management for individuals, families, and groups whose maltreatment allegation(s) met criteria for maltreatment.
  • Engage with commanders and leaders to provide consultation regarding clinical treatment for the active-duty components referred for maltreatment allegations.
  • Support the New Parent Support Program which provides support to military families during pregnancy; education and supportive services for parents of children from 0-3-years-old.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams that respond to High Risk for Violence, Child Sexual Maltreatment, PSB-CY, New Parent Support Program, Clinical Case Consultation and MCCC.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

US Citizenship required

  • Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently or unrestricted license to practice marriage and family therapy independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands.
  • Prefer candidate with two years’ full-time post-master’s degree experience (within the last three years) providing clinical counseling services to adults and children experiencing family violence.
  • Prefer candidate with experience as a group therapy facilitator or co-leader.
  • Must be able to obtain privileges at the Military Treatment Facility (MTF).
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries NACI Tier I Clearance.
  • Must obtain and maintain Basic Life Support Certification (Course C).
  • Must have transportation and a valid drivers’ license.
This is an interdisciplinary position and may be filled and classified to the series represented by the candidate that meets the qualifications of one of the listed series.
