Fort Drum is a U.S. Army military reservation and a census-designated place (CDP) in Jefferson County, near the western border of northern New York, United States. The population of the CDP portion of the base was 12,955 at the 2010 census. It is home to the 10th Mountain Division.

This position is a Physical Therapy Assistant located with the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) at Fort Drum, New York.

Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of complex PTA duties requiring an advanced practical knowledge of physical therapy.
- Implement and design prescribed physical therapy progressive treatment plans with patients for orthopedic conditions in the inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Instruct and review all home program precautions with patients and family members.
- Administer diverse physical therapy programs utilizing various therapeutic interventions, such as thermotherapy, electrotherapy, mechanical traction, and/or gait training, mobility/transfers, group education exercise.
- Provide updated status in patient progress reports to attending Physical Therapists.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes implementing physical therapy treatment plans, and instructing on physical therapy programs or providing status reports. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).

Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Physical Therapy.
OR
Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
