Summary :
The Buyer I is responsible for procuring materials, supplies, and equipment essential for business operations. This role encompasses fundamental purchasing activities, including supplier communications, basic negotiations, and inventory management. The Buyer I supports the Sourcing team by assisting Buyer II and Buyer III with procurement tasks and providing administrative support to ensure smooth operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Prepare and Manage Purchase Orders (POs) : Handle POs for various categories, including :
Metals (raw materials) for the Fabrication Shop
Requests initiated through the Kanban system
Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials
Drop shipments directly to customers
Obtain Quotes and Select Solutions : Gather multiple quotes and assist in selecting the best value options.
Monitor Inventory Levels : Track inventory and initiate purchase activities as needed.
Vendor Information Management : Set up and maintain accurate vendor information in company systems.
Process RMAs : Handle vendor and customer Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and coordinate resolutions.
Administrative Support : Provide data entry, document preparation, and report generation support for Buyer II and Buyer III.
Cross-Functional Support : Assist cross-functional teams with procurement-related tasks.
Maintain Procurement Records : Organize and maintain procurement records for accessibility and compliance.
Process Improvement : Contribute to efforts aimed at enhancing efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Other Duties : Perform additional tasks as assigned outside the scope of Purchasing.

Education and Experience :
