What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-Time Director of Bowling/Head Coach position at Defiance College?
Defiance College, an NAIA institution and member of the WHAC, seeks applications for an individual to serve as the Director of Bowling and Head Coach for a start-up bowling program with anticipated competition for the Women starting in the 2025-2026 academic year and anticipated competition for the Men starting in the 2026-2027 academic year.
The Director is responsible for the total operation of the bowling program under the direction of the athletic director. Bowling responsibilities include recruiting, match/practice management, budget management, sponsorship management, scheduling, fundraising, and other duties normally associated with being the head coach. Additional expectations of this position include mentoring of student-athletes and being a positive role model; commitment to their academic progress and degree completion; and development of a service learning/engagement project for student-athletes. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting the mission of Defiance College, as well as adherence to institutional, NAIA, and WHAC policies and procedures.
A bachelor’s degree, USBC coaching certification, and a valid driver’s license are required; master’s degree and previous collegiate coaching and recruiting experience preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate strong communication skills, successful recruiting experience, and the ability to lead and serve our student-athletes.
This is a part-time, 10-month position (August-May) with a start date of August 1, 2025 for the 2025-2026 season. Applications are being accepted and reviewed immediately.
