Defiance Stamping Company (DSC) has an opening for a 2nd Shift Production Supervisor at our Napoleon Ohio, facility.
This position will report to the Operations Manager and will be responsible for overseeing the activities and performance of 2nd shift production employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prioritize and delegate resources and people throughout the shift.
- Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Direct work in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
- Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
- Train and/or record training of employees.
- Maintain an appropriate labor-management relationship with subordinates, union, and human resources to discuss and eliminate problems.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Verify amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules.
- Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
- Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities from shift to shift.
- Reports machine and equipment malfunction to maintenance personnel.
- Maintain time and production records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Prior UAW supervisory experience
- Act independently
- Strong communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $63,500.00 - $75,000.00 per year
