Defibtech is seeking a Project Manager to lead cross-functional teams through the project lifecycle, including initiating, planning, executing, and closing for large scale projects in a medical device regulated environment. Leading cross-functional project teams through close coordination and collaboration will be a key element of this role. This position will ensure communications occur with stakeholders and partners. Further, the Project Manager will lead the core team to define the milestones from the point of project initiation to launch commitments. This position is based on site at our Guilford, CT headquarters, capable of occasional hybrid work when projects allow.
Core Responsibilities:
Simultaneously leads and manages multiple complex projects with a high level of independence.- Serves as accountable team leader for the projects core team performance, project schedule, issue resolution, project execution, budget commitments and spending.
- Creates long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
- Ensures effective ongoing communications across teams and stakeholders by frequently interacting with all functions and levels of management.
- Works within the guidelines of Defibtech’s project office model, standard performance metrics, and regulatory guidelines to support, plan, monitor, control, and implement projects.
- Communicates with the executive team to highlight priorities and ensure that projects are aligned with company goals and objectives.
- Ensures identification and communication of project risks, development of risk plan and leads core team in the proactive management of risk response strategies.
- Anticipates and manages potential conflicts. Leads teams in timely resolution of complex problems, including development of technical solutions, project plans, resourcing plans, and budget.
- Leads teams in managing scope and project change management, keeping the team aligned while adjusting schedules, scope, and targets for the project as change arises.
- Manages all financial aspects of assigned projects, from initiation through close, which may include capital expenditures and functional expenses.
- Demonstrates Defibtech’s values on the job and promotes and takes part in continuous improvement.
- Actively supports compliance of Company operations to all applicable laws, regulations and standards, good business practices and company documented procedures (including but not limited to FDA, Quality Systems Regulations, safety regulations and applicable statutes).
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of related experience or the equivalent combination of education, experience and/or applicable training.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field of study with more than 2 years of related experience working within product lifecycle processed and managing projects is highly preferred.
- Experience in developing medical device equipment in a regulated environment.
- Experience in following product lifecycle management processes for class II (or class III) medical devices is highly desired.
- Previous demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects required.
- Excellent project management skills. PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification preferred.
- Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and experience in analyzing complex problems.
- Understanding of technical engineering concepts relating to project lifecycle and product lifecycle.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and an understanding of Product Development Process requirements.
- Proven leadership skills and ability to lead conflict resolution.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent verbal and written ability.
- Proficient with software related tools.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Specify primary setting(s): Office setting
- Travel as needed, less than 5%.
- Sedentary work with frequent sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing and short durations of walking throughout location(s) and lifting to 10lbs.
