Medical Practitioner (NP or PA)

Defining Wellness Centers in Brandon, MS is seeking a Medical Practitioner (either Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant-Dual Certified Practitioners are also encouraged to apply) for a full-time position in our Substance Abuse/Detox treatment facility. 2 or more years practicing in healthcare setting or a substance abuse treatment facility is preferred. Current Licensed to practice in the State of MS is required.

Duties for the position are as follows.

• Deliver direct patient care to clients with substance dependence, psychotic disorders, and general or emergency medical needs.
• Provide continuous, comprehensive and culturally sensitive health care of the highest quality.
• Record all necessary documentation in patient medical records including diagnosis, education, medications, referrals, testing and followup.
• Provide dayto day supervision of nursing staff with respect to individual patient management.
• Participate in case management review and discussion.
• Assist with chart audits to assess success of the program.
• Participate in general and medical staff meetings, QA meetings, and other committees when needed to improve patient care and the overall operation of the program.
• Provide assistance to the Physician or Executive Director as needed.
• Completes required training as a member of the Crisis Response Services team (if applicable).
• Perform other duties as assigned related to the care and treatment of patients.
