Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented GM Certified Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with a range of makes and models. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and providing exceptional customer service to ensure the satisfaction of our customers. The Automotive Mechanic will work with various hand tools and schematics to effectively address vehicle problems and maintain high standards of quality.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair automotive issues using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Assess vehicles to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
- Liaise with customers and service staff to determine the automotive requirements and communicate vehicular defects or problems
- Provide routine inspections of vehicles and inform clients of any issues
- Prepare quotes and work estimates as requested
- Keep an accurate log of all work performed
- Perform routine maintenance services, including tire service and suspension work.
- Utilize auto estimating techniques to provide accurate assessments of repair needs.
- Work with schematics to understand vehicle systems and components.
- Communicate effectively with service staff and customers regarding their vehicle's condition and required services.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with dealership staff to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- GM Certified
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic, preferably in a dealership setting.
- Proficiency in working with a range of makes and models is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems, including suspension and transmission components.
- Familiarity with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics related to automotive systems.
