Position Overview:

As a key member of our service department, you will play a critical role in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining the transmission systems of GM vehicles. Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Excellence: Perform in-depth diagnostics of GM vehicle transmissions using GM-specific tools and systems to identify issues and determine the best course of action for repair or replacement.
- Expert Repairs: Execute complex transmission repairs, including rebuilds, part replacements, and system calibrations, following GM’s factory specifications and procedures.
- Customer Communication: Work directly with service advisors to communicate repair findings and recommend necessary actions. Ensure clear and transparent communication with customers regarding their transmission service needs.
- Quality Control: Ensure all transmission repairs meet or exceed GM standards for performance, safety, and reliability.
- Collaboration: Partner with fellow technicians to share knowledge, solve complex issues, and maintain a collaborative and high-performing service department.
- Safety and Cleanliness: Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current on GM's latest technologies and service bulletins, completing necessary training and certifications to enhance your skills.
- Documentation: Accurately document all work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, and part replacements, ensuring complete and up-to-date records for each vehicle.
Qualifications:
- GM Certified Technician with specialization in transmission systems.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as an automotive technician, with direct expertise in GM transmissions.
- Proficient in using GM diagnostic tools and software to assess and repair transmission issues.
- Strong knowledge of GM transmission components, systems, and repair procedures.
- ASE certification in Transmission Repair is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal automotive training or technical certifications are highly desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments.
