DeHay & Elliston, LLP, a nationally recognized asbestos litigation law firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Paralegal in our Dallas office. This position requires a candidate with a strong medical background, who possesses a Paralegal Certificate with a minimum of two years of work experience as a Paralegal in a mid-size law firm preferred.

Qualifications and Skills :

2 years’ experience in a Law Firm setting as a Paralegal preferred.

Civil litigation or asbestos defense experience preferred.

Paralegal Certification or BA Degree required (or relevant work experience).

Experience working on cases from start to finish, from the first filing, up to and including trial support.

Experience working on cases with multiple defendants and expedited trial dates.

Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.

Excellent organizational and time management, research, and analytical skills.

Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize and proactively manage a large caseload.

Must have ability to work well independently, as well as be part of a team.

Must be able to multi-task and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Must know e-filing systems, including but not limited to LexisNexis and Pacer, Word, Excel & Outlook.

Job Duties :

Review prepare and draft pleadings.

Summarize medical records.

Review discovery.

Trial preparation and support.

Court filings and cite checking.

e-discovery and e-filings.

Organizing exhibits and reproducing records.

Identifying relevant documents.

Any and all other Paralegal duties requested by the supervising Attorney.

Paralegal : 2 years (Preferred)

Paralegal Certification or BA Degree (Preferred)
