Senior Accountant Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records and statements, providing insightful financial analysis, and supporting the company's financial strategies. This role also involves guiding junior accounting staff and collaborating with various departments to achieve organizational goals.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
- Ensure financial statements are accurate by preparing journal entries and preparing detailed account reconciliations.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate and assist with internal and external audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and accessible.
- Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies to enhance efficiency and safeguard company assets.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and support strategic initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Senior Accountant Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in supervising and mentoring junior staff is a plus.
