HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:
As an Automotive Sander you will be responsible for prepping and sanding utility bodies and dump bodies for painting. This will be done under the supervision and instruction of the Branch Manager. You will work towards completing goals according to Dejanas standards by:
- Sanding, washing, and conditioning parts as necessary. Light bodywork may be required.
- Upkeeping work areas and equipment which may include preventative maintenance tasks
- Inspecting product before, during, after process to ensure specifications are being met.
- Communicating with supervisor regarding quality or procedure problems.
- Performing all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area.
- Other duties as assigned or required.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS:

High school diploma, equivalent or trade school certification required.
-
1-3 years' experience in the preparation of automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop.

Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to do precision work.

Ability to operate hand tools and power tools
- Detail-oriented and organized; self-motivated and able to meet manufacturing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of expertly prioritizing and multi-tasking.
PHYSICAL & MENTAL ENVIRONMENT
- Majority of time spent standing on hard surface, with substantial amount of pushing, pulling and lifting. Position requires ability to frequently lift objects up to 50 pounds, perform moderately difficult, manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination skills, walk and stand for prolonged periods, see objects closely, and hear normal sounds with some background noises.
- Position requires ability to concentrate on fine detail with constant interruption and attend to tasks for 20 to 45 minutes at a time. Individual must be able to understand and relate to concepts behind specific ideas and remember multiple tasks given to self and others over long periods of time and be able to communicate verbally and in writing.
- This job is indoors in a traditional manufacturing/warehouse setting. Activities will include both sitting and standing. These activities will occur in the production areas. The position is indoors and there may be exposure to hazardous fumes from paint and paint-mixing ingredients. There will be varying temperatures between different areas.
