Specific Job Skills:
The Account Manager will demonstrate:
· Excellent written, verbal, computer and listening communication skills;
· Resourcefulness in problem-solving;
· Ability to plan and carry out several projects concurrently;
· Strong basic mathematics skills;
· Strong PC skills required in the areas of e-mail, spreadsheet, and word processing. Need to be very proficient in Excel, with the ability to manipulate and or create spreadsheets.
Interpersonal Contacts:
This position requires ongoing contact with customers, Sales personnel, retailers, merchandising/advertising personnel and product managers. Approximately 60% of contact is by telephone or email, and 40% is face to face.
Primary Functions/Major Responsibilities/ Category and Assigned Products
· Grow sales and distribution of assigned Exclusive Brands (Private Label).
· Accomplish the development, implementation and execution of promotion plans, merchandising programs and pricing strategies.
· Assist with case estimates for upcoming promotions, supplier notification.
· Work with the manufacturers to get mixed pallets, display ready pallets & shippers that retail request.
· Understand competitive pricing/retail gap analysis.
· Participate with management in developing:
- Spending levels necessary to support forecasted sales quotas and achievement of market share objectives.
- New distributions, merchandising programs and promotional mix to achieve sales and marketing objectives.
Staff Development
The Account Manager will be responsible for training and educating Territory Managers on the items and programs under his/her responsibilities in Coordination with the Sales Manager
Other Responsibilities and Functions:
Handle all special projects and programs as assigned by the Regional Manager
Job Scope:
The Account Manager performs complex tasks, deals with a wide variety of issues, and determines individual practices and procedures within the parameters of general policy. Accuracy and attention to detail are vital in the Account Manager work. Account managers work independently; yet coordinate their activities with Regional Manager and customers.
