Studio Manager Job Description

This is a Full-Time position. Your time will be split between eyelash application and managerial and studio development duties. Although you will always be managing, we understand that you will also be applying lashes 70-75% of the time. Role modeling the Deka Lash way and leading the staff will be a 100% commitment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide services personally, in addition to leading staff and managing the studio

• Leading by example by modeling all activities through self-involvement

• Maintaining moral of lash artists through positivity, motivation, and support

• Ensure Deka Lash branding and culture through consistency and continuity in all actions

Client-focused Responsibilities (as a Lash Artist)

• Provide high quality services

• Educate clients on how to properly care for their lashes

• Upsell memberships, services, and products

• Engage clients with world-class service, including check-in/out

Client-focused Responsibilities (as a Studio Manager)

• Encourage the highest level of customer service staff-wide

• Respond professionally and in a timely manner to client feedback/issues (both positive and negative) in person, on the phone or via social media

• Conduct follow-up with every new client within 24-48 hours

Staff-focused Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor the hiring and training of Deka Lash studio Lash Artists

• Phone screen and pre-interview; make interview/hiring recommendations

• In partnership with Studio Trainer, manage, monitor and mentor Deka Lash studio Lash Artists for ongoing success and future growth

• Schedule bi-weekly pack meetings to discuss goals, review performance, recognize staff and review Monthly Refresher Sheets and Promotions

• Schedule regular meetings with each lash artist to discuss progress against goals and identify developmental opportunities

• Create Action plans

• Create and manage staff schedules, including handling same-day staff call-outs

• In collaboration with the Studio Trainer, responsible for 90-day and annual Lash Artist performance evaluations

• Manage disciplinary actions involving Deka Lash studio staff, should they arise

Studio-focused Responsibilities

• Ensure industry sanitation standards are met and/or exceeded

• Comply with and enforce Deka Lash Corporate policies, business practices, systems and processes

• Attend monthly corporate Studio Manager/Trainer meetings

• Coordinate and lead local sales efforts (social media marketing, outreach, studio events)

• Management of new leads coming from ads or events using prescribed process

• Ensure all studio systems are followed such as proper open/close, delinquent account procedures, cash handling and inventory management

• Proactively manage the schedule to ensure bookings are confirmed and client expectations are managed (confirmations, membership status, etc)

• Ensure the facility is clean, stocked, properly maintained and operationally sound

Required Qualifications:

• Currently licensed Esthetician or Cosmetologist

• Positive, proactive, and a team player

• Possess excellent leadership and management skills to create a positive, successful environment for staff and clients

• Have a strong work ethic, integrity and professional demeanor

• Ability to multi-task and manage client and staff concerns in a timely and appropriate manner

• Ability to foster a TEAM environment

• Goal driven

• Must be available to work during extended studio hours (including nights and weekends)

• Must be accessible when unforeseen issues arise outside of working schedule

• Previous management experience in the beauty industry strongly recommended but not required

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
