DeKalb County Government is seeking an experienced Content and Marketing Specialist. Following are job duties and qualifications:
- Develops content strategies and campaigns; creates compelling written content, including press releases, speeches, blogs, newsletters, and marketing collateral; and develops storytelling strategies that highlight County programs, services, and successes; and supports messaging for key initiatives, ensuring alignment with the CEO’s priorities.
- Manages marketing campaigns; develops and implements strategic marketing initiatives to promote County programs, events, and services; monitors, tracks, and reports on campaign effectiveness, and applies data-driven insights to refine future strategies; and oversees the development of branded materials for marketing and outreach.
- Collaborates on internal and external communications; assists in crafting public-facing messages for crises, emergencies, and major announcements; supports internal communication efforts, including employee newsletters, leadership updates, and town hall messaging; and coordinates with the design team to integrate visuals into written content.
- Creates and manages content; develops content strategy aligned with County goals; writes and edits various content formats; and maintains content calendar and editorial schedule.
- Performs SEO and content optimization; applies software platforms; optimizes content for search engines; and monitors and improves content performance.
- Optimizes content distribution and promotion; develops a multi-channel distribution strategy; implements email marketing campaign; and collaborates with influencers and industry partners.
- Performs analytics and reporting; sets up and monitors content performance metrics; generates regular reports on content effectiveness; and presents findings to stakeholders and team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or a related field required; five years of experience in content development, public relations, marketing or a related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
