What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alternative Education-Academic Liaison position at DeKalb County Regional Office of Education?
This is a full-time permanent position that will serve students in Dekalb County that have been alternatively placed for academic achievement. The position shows a need for a teaching or human services background such as social work, counseling or case management. This new program will have a maximum capacity of 10 students and the academic liaison will be responsible for meeting with students at least twice weekly. The academic liaison will also be responsible for thorough communication, case noting and providing updates to the student's academic team and guardians.
The school day would be consistent with an already established 181 school day calendar, 6 hours daily Monday-Friday. Three days a week will be for scheduled academic meetings, providing supports and interventions for an established curriculum. Two days a week would be for case manangement, regular academic and social updates and lesson planning.
